Box Score LYNCHBURG, Va. – The Bridgewater College men's tennis team fell to Randolph 9-0 on Wednesday.
Randolph jumped in front by sweeping the doubles points. BC saw its best fights come at the No. 1 and No. 3 spots as
Mark Gordon and
Gabe Elder fell 4-8 at the top spot and
Corey Beshoar and
Bryce Cline fell by the same score at the No. 3 spot.
Matthew Leonard gave the Eagles life in singles action as he fell behind early before battling in the second set and falling by a 1-6, 4-6 scoreline. Beshoar and Elder each had tough matches at the No. 3 and No. 4 spots that went the distance. Both Eagles lost their opening sets in tiebreakers before storming back to take the second sets rather easily to force a match tiebreak. Elder fell 6-7(5), 6-2, 5-10 while Beshoar jumped head 6-1 in the breaker before falling 6-7(5), 6-0, 8-10.
The Eagles warp up the regular season on Thursday as they head south to Ferrum for the third time this season.
