LYNCHBURG, Va. – The Bridgewater College women's track & field team wrapped up its regular season at the WildCat Invitational hosted by Randolph on Saturday.
Mackenzie Young earned a new personal best in the 800-meter run finishing second with a time of 2:20.48. Young now moves to third all time in program history while is now fifth in the ODAC.
Jade Buckles scored points in the 200-meter dash placing fourth crossing the line at the 27.15 mark.
Summer Wallace won the long jump leaping out to a mark measuring 5.17 meters (16' 11.5''). Buckles grabbed fourth in the event with a jump measuring 4.80 meters (15' 9'').
Abby Mikolay set another school record in the shot put breaking her own record set earlier this year at the VertKlasse Meeting. Mikolay won the event with a mark measuring 13.13 meters (43' 1'') which gives her the top measurement in the conference. The freshman thrower also won the discus with a new personal best throw of 40.67 meters (133' 5''). This still gives her second in the on the all-time top 10 list while gives her first in the league.
The hammer throw saw two Eagles take part in the event with Mikolay recording a third-place toss of 39.75 meters and Brianna Morgan flinging the apparatus 37.77 meters (123' 11'') to score points for BC.
The Eagles finished fourth in the meet recording 66 points. Southern Virginia won the meet with 124 points, Randolph took second with 98 and Division II Emory and Henry saw third place with 89 points.
Bridgewater returns to Bridgewater Stadium on April 26-27 for the ODAC Championships with events beginning at 12 p.m. on Friday.
