HIGH POINT, N.C. – The Bridgewater College men's track & field team saw day one action at the VertKlasse hosted by Division I High Point University.
Mike Smith finished sixth in the hammer throw with a season-best mark of 57.61 meters (189' 0''). Smith's throw was the best amongst Division III competitors.
Anthony Matthews was the lone Eagle to place in the long jump getting out to a mark of 6.44 meters (21' 1.5'').
Ryder Rose saw action in the 3,000-meter steeplechase registering a new season-best time of 10:12.68.
Gabriel Miller recorded a new personal best in the 5,000-meter run stopping the clock at the 15:54.48 mark.
Bennett Cupps finished 30th in the 1,500-meter run which consisted of a field of 99 runners. Cupps clocked a time of 4:06.90. Calvin Hulleman earned a new personal best time of 4:15.57.
The Eagles compete tomorrow, April 6, for day two of the VertKlasse Meeting starting with track events at 9 a.m.
