HARRISONBURG, Va. - Bridgewater men's track & field took on the new home indoor track facility at the Rockingham Collegiate Open with competitive results Friday.
Mike Smith highlighted the day with a solid performance overall including a 16.77m mark landing him first overall individually in the weight throw and a 14.63m mark in the shot put.
Also in the field, Jesus Flores took third in the weight throw with a mark of 14.54m. Flores then placed fourth in the shot put with a 14.19m mark. Antonio Harris and Joe Flynn followed in the weight with fourth and fifth-place marks at 14.52m and 14.08m.
Ian Browne landed a 6.09m mark in the long jump for a fifth-place finish.
Walker Knicely in the pole vault raised the bar, breaking his personal best and setting a new mark of 4.28m. Knicely finished second overall on the day.
On the track, Gabe Miller broke a personal best in the mile with a time of 4:34.30. Lauchnor Lamb then ran a solid time of 53.11 in the 400, placing fifth.
Joe Amlacher reached the 60-meter hurdles finals clocking a time of 8.77 and finishing fourth.
Bennett Cupps rounded out competition to take third overall individually in the 800, running a time of 1:58.61.

The Eagles will look ahead to conference championships as Roanoke will host the ODAC indoor track & field championships held in Salem, Va., on March 1-2.
