Box Score ASHLAND, Va. - The Bridgewater College men's tennis team picked up a 6-1victory over Randolph-Macon on Tuesday for its first conference win of the season.
BC started off by taking the doubles point in convincing fashion. THe Eagles cruised to wins at the top two spots as
Corey Beshoar and
Matthew Leonard breezed to a 6-1 victory at the top spot and the tandem of
Mark Gordon and
Eli Morela cruised to a 6-1 win at No. 2 to seal up a 1-0 lead for BC.
Beshoar was first off the court in singles play at No. 2 as he took home a quick 6-3, 6-0 victory. BC dropped a match at No. 5 as RMC got on the board next, but
Coree Nicely rallied from 2-5 down in his second set to take a 6-2, 7-5 victory at No. 6 for the Eagles. Gordon got the Eagles the match clinching-victory at No. 4 with a 6-1, 6-3 victory. BC polished off the afternoon with a 7-6 (5), 6-4 victory at No. 3 from
Steven Perry andÂ
Matthew Leonard capped off the day with a 6-3, 6-4 victory at the top spot in his homecoming.
The Eagles are back in action this weekend with a pair of home matches beginning on Saturday against Randolph at 1 p.m.
