SALEM, Va. - The Bridgewater College men's track and field team concluded their competition at the Bast-Cregger invitational Saturday afternoon.
Bridgewater opened their Saturday with the men's shot put. Jesus Flores threw 15.85 meters on his final throw to place second. Flores's top throw of the meet was the second-best mark in program history.
Flores and Joe Flynn recorded impressive throws in the men's weight throw. Flores placed second again, throwing 16.22 meters on his third throw. Flynn's top throw was 15.19 meters, and it came on his second throw. Flores and Flynn's top throws landed seventh and tenth on the all-time performance list.
After earning his spot in the 60-meter hurdles finals on Friday, Jayden Brown placed fourth in the event, crossing the line in 8.52 seconds.
Jayden Davenport competed in the men's 60-meter dash finals and placed sixth. Davenport clocked 7.10.
The Eagles had three competitors place in the top-10 of the men's 200-meter dash. Davenport placed seventh, clocking 23.35. Gabe Wylie was the top finisher in the fourth heat. Wylie clocked 23.43, good for eighth. Max Madsen placed tenth after recording a 23.48 dash.
The Eagles are scheduled to journey across the commonwealth to Newport News, Va., on Sunday, Feb. 8 for the Vince Brown Invitational.
