WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - The Bridgewater Women's Program finished day 1 of the NCAA Fall Preview at Kingsmill Monday. On the iconic River Course at Kingsmill where dozens of LPGA Legends have been Champions, the Eagles battled wind and a very difficult track.
Sitting in 15th position, the Eagles were led by Senior
Hannah Rizzo who shot 88 in round 1. The sophomore class of
Iyana Smith,
Addy Sweet and
Sarah Maggi added the other three counting scores for Eagles to score 377 as a team.
Â
"Every player had solid runs over the 18 holes. However, it is a course where mistakes are magnified and 3 or 4 big numbers over a round can easily mess up a scorecard," commented Assistant Coach Michael Clark who was with the women today. "The value of playing this course against national competition will pay dividends for these kids and the program down the road," Clark added.
Â
The Eagles will complete competition tomorrow with a 9:00 AM shotgun start paired again with Lynchburg and Southern Virginia University to complete their fall season.
