HARRISONBURG, Va. - The Bridgewater College women's golf team rounded out the Bridgewater Invitational in fourth place as Hannah Rizzo was a shot shy of taking first place in a field of 57 golfers at Lakeview Golf Club Tuesday. 

"I am super proud of the girls for how they showed up this week," said golf head coach Nick Schlickenrieder. "It is not a given that players are able to stay positive, have fun, and continue battling through tough conditions. We will be back in action next week, and if we can carry this energy forward, I am confident we will put ourselves in a great position to finish on top."

Despite the rainy conditions, the Eagles held their own and stood ahead of two ODAC teams, Shenandoah and Roanoke. In the two-day tournament, Bridgewater totaled 698 (334-364). Southern Virginia topped the team leader board with a stellar +14 on the second day to surpass Marymount. Marymount placed second and Salisbury took third, respectively. 

In the player leader board, senior Hannah Rizzo competed for the top spot all day in the second round. She posted three birdies but fell back slightly with back-to-back bogeys to take second place. Rizzo lined up a 152 (+6) after two rounds of play.  

Addy Sweet secured a 23rd place finish and was the second lowest scorer for the Eagles. The rainy and wet conditions got in the way to maintain consistently low numbers for the day, but Sweet still held firm to knock in a birdie on No. 4 and came away with a 175 (+29). 

The next finisher was Iyana Smith as she took 26th place. Sarah Maggi came in at 34th place and Anna Faith Brunk placed 43rd as the drop score.  

The Eagles return to the links again at Virginia Beach for the Anita Hobson Invitational on Sept. 28-29.
