Arlington, Va. - The Bridgewater College men's lacrosse team improved to 3-0 in the season following an 11-8 victory over Marymount Saturday afternoon.

How it Happened:

The opening minutes of the game presented few scoring opportunities. After three shot attempts from the Eagles' offense in the first three minutes, Marymount ripped six over the following four minutes. After surviving the Saints' attack, Luke Wendler connected with Ryan Linn with 6:59 remaining in the opening quarter for the first goal of the contest. Isaac Beals found Jake Wagner with 6:11 remaining to boost the BC lead to 2-0. Marymount went to score three goals in the final four minutes of the quarter to take a 3-2 lead.

Bridgewater opened the second quarter with seven shot attempts in the opening five minutes, with four being on target. Bridgewater eventually cracked the Marymount defense with 6:48 remaining in the half when Wagner scored his first goal of the contest. Marymount immediately responded with a goal of their own seconds later to regain the lead. Marymount went on a 2-0 run with 4:50 remaining in the half to increase their lead to 6-3. Riley Stewart scored unassisted with two minutes remaining in the period to cut the Saints lead to two entering halftime.

A minute into the second half, Alex Garbarino connected with Stewart to cut the deficit to one. Freshman Tristan Lee tied the affair with 12:29 remaining in the third quarter. Despite a Marymount goal in the middle of the quarter, Bridgewater outscored the Saints 3-1 in the final 3:24 of the third quarter to enter the final period with a 9-8 lead.

Bridgewater is scheduled to host Greensboro on Wednesday, Feb. 25 at 4 p.m. This will be their first home game of the season. It will be streamed live on FloCollege.
