SALEM, Va. – The Bridgewater College women's track and field team completed the first day of the Old Dominion Athletic Conference indoor championships Saturday afternoon. The first day of the meet was held at the Kerr-Cregger indoor complex on the campus of Roanoke College.
Summer Wallace was the ODAC champion in the women's long jump. Wallace's best jump was 5.52 meters, the 50th best performance in division III this year. Wallace also claimed third in the women's high jump, clearing 1.59 meters.
Brianna Morgan placed third in the women's weight throw, recording a top throw ofd 14.99 meters on her fifth attempt.
In preliminary competitions, Olivia Crigger qualified for the women's 60-meter hurdles finals. Crigger clocked 9.38, the fifth-best time in the prelims.
Jade Buckles clocked 7.66 in the prelims of the women's 60-meter dash, the fastest time in the prelims. Buckles' dash was the 16th best mark in division III this year.
Bridgewater finished day one in third place with 35 points, trailing Washington and Lee and Lynchburg. The Eagles are scheduled to open the final day of competition with the women's shot put at 2:30 p.m. The meet will be streamed live on FloCollege.
