SUNSET BEACH, N.C. - The Bridgewater College women's golf team started out the spring season at the Pfeiffer Spring Invitational in the first round of two with a ninth-place finish Monday. 

The Eagles were led by Hannah Rizzo, finishing in 21st place through the first 18 holes. Rizzo evened out some rocky holes with seven holes even at par. The three double bogeys pushed the score back to close the first round with a +14. 

The second finisher for the Eagles was Emily Price. Price took 37th overall and carded seven holes even at par after facing three holes with triple bogey.  

To follow Price was Addy Sweet, who ended in 45th place. Sweet stayed even at par in five holes after a struggling quadruple bogey on No. 5. Sarah Maggi and Iyana Smith were the final finishers for the Eagles, finishing in 57th and 58th place, respectively

The second round continues tomorrow, March 3 at Ocean Ridge Plantation.
