JACKSONVILLE, N.C. - The Bridgewater College women's golf team improve by two strokes in their team score, but still drop a spot to finish eighth in the 11 team field at the Camp Lejeune 53rd Annual Marine Corps Invitational.
Hannah Rizzo led the way for the Eagles with a strong three-day performance of +18 (231) for fifth place among 60 golfers. Rizzo kept scores in the 70's all three days.
Emily Price took 16th place with a +32 followed by
Addy Sweet for 40th with a +50.
Iyana Smith came through as the fourth scorer with a 48th-place finish.
Sarah Maggi posted a career-best round score of 89
Oglethorpe at (+61) over the three days was the event Champion.
"At this level of competition we need all five players to bring their A-Game at the same time to be successful," commented assistant coach Michael Clark who was with group the final two rounds of the tournament. "The experience of having to compete over 54 holes down here will pay dividends if we learn from it. It's same format at ODAC Championship in Williamsburg in two weeks," Clark added.
The women will head to the ODAC Championships on April 26-28 in Williamsburg, Va.
