Women's Golf Holds Fifth After Day 2 at ODAC Championship

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - The Bridgewater College women's golf team maintained their fifth place standing in second day action at the ODAC Championship at Williamsburg National Golf Club on the Yorktown course Monday.

The Eagles were led by Emily Price, who strung together four birdies to shoot a second-round score of 75 (+3). Price's score was a 10-stroke improvement from day 1 and a personal best in ODAC Championship competition.

As a team, the Eagles posted a score of 335 which improved by four strokes from the first round. Hannah Rizzo and Iyanna Smith both landed lower scores in day two action as Rizzo carded an 80 and Smith shot an 86.

Addy Sweet provided the fourth score with a score of 94 on the team board. The Eagles will prepare for the third and final round tomorrow as they pair up with Va. Wesleyan and Averett. Bridgewater currently holds a 10-stroke lead ahead of Averett.

"I am really happy with how today played out," said head coach Nick Schlickenrieder. "Emily making a huge improvement and Iyanna delivering another personal best was amazing to see. Our mindset is in a really good place now, and it will pay off on the course. We have one more round to show what we can do, and we're very excited for tomorrow's competition."

Sitting atop the leaderboard is No. 12 ranked Randolph-Macon as it jumped ahead of No. 8 ranked Washington and Lee with a six-stroke cushion.

The final round will begin tomorrow at 10:40 a.m. on the Yorktown course in Williamsburg.
