LEXINGTON, Va. - The Bridgewater College men's track and field team opened their 2026 outdoor slate at the W&L Track & Field Carnival on Friday and Saturday.
On Friday, Senior Gabriel Miller competed in the men's 5000-meter invite, clocking 15:21.76 for a sixth-place finish. Miller's time was the tenth-best performance in program history.
Lauchnor Lamb placed seventh in the men's long jump with a best jump of 6.53 meters.
Joe Flynn and McKinley Goodbar both placed in the top-10 of the men's hammer throw, registering best throws of 40.69 meters and 38.60 meters, respectively.
Trey Birchett competed in the men's high jump and placed fifth. Birchett's cleared the 1.89-meter threshold on his final attempt, then failed to clear 1.94 meters.
On Saturday, Jayden Brown and Joey Amlacher opened their outdoor campaign in the men's 110-meter hurdles. Brown placed fifth with a 15.56 mark, and Amlacher placed seventh, stopping the clock after 15.62 seconds.
Gabe Wylie and Walker Knicely both posted top-10 finishes in the men's 400-meter dash. Wylie podiumed after registering a 49.48 sprint, good for third. Knicely placed tenth with a 51.01-second sprint.
Jayden Davenport placed in the top-10 of the men's 100-meter dash with an 11-second dash. Davenport also competed in the men's 200-meter dash, an event he earned all-ODAC honors in during the indoor season. The freshman sprinter's 22.14 dash was good for fifth, and the tenth-best performance in program history.
Jesus Flores continued his ways from the ODAC championship by besting the field in the men's shot put. Flores's best throw of 15.50 meters came on his fourth throw and became the second-best mark in program history.
Walker Knicely placed second in the men's pole vault after clearing the 4.49-meter bar on his first attempt. Knicely was unable to clear the deciding 4.46-meter threshold in three tries.
Luke Williams placed third in the men's discus throw with a 39.64-meter throw on his final attempt.
After a successful outing to open their outdoor campaign, Bridgewater is looking forward to hosting the Doc Jopson Track and Field Invitational. The two-day event begins on Friday, Mar. 27 at 10 a.m. The event will be streamed live on FloCollege.
