Lemn Announces Additions of Bryant and Ahles to Football Staff

BRIDGEWATER, Va. - Bridgewater College Head Football Coach Scott Lemn has announced the additions of Darian Bryant and Miles Ahles to the coaching staff ahead of the spring season.

Bryant will work with the offensive line, while Ahles will aid the BC linebacking core.

Bryant is no stranger to Div. III, as he comes to BC after spending the last two seasons at Wilkes University. Over his time at Wilkes, Bryant worked with a strong O-Line and tight ends, amassing eight total all-conference selections. Bryant earned his undergraduate degree from Temple University in 2019 where he played on the offensive line. From there he earned a pair of mater's degrees, one from Towson University in 2020 and another from Virginia Union University in 2022. His efforts at Virginia Union as an offensive lineman earned him an invite to Rookie Mini-Camp with the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2023.

"Darian has experienced every level of college football, either as a player and as a coach, which gives him a unique perspective of the game," said Lemn. "When we met with him, the variety of coaches from his past has helped him to build a diverse set of teaching tools for someone early in his career. In addition to his technical teaching, he brings tremendous energy and a genuine commitment to developing his players."

Ahles joins the Eagles' staff after most recently serving as the defensive coordinator at Davidson College. During his time at the FCS level, Ahles was the defensive signal caller and worked with the linebackers. Prior to that, the San Diego native was the defensive coordinator at Div. II Bentley University and also worked with linebackers there as well. Ahles is also no stranger to the Div. III level as he is an alum of Chapman University in southern California, where he started for three years as a linebacker.

"Miles' background as a Division III football player, combined with coaching experience across multiple levels, brings a diverse and valuable perspective to our staff," said Lemn. "His ability to teach detailed technique as a position coach, along with his big-picture understanding from serving as a coordinator, adds tremendous depth and balance to our defensive unit."

The Eagles begin spring practice later this month.
