WHITEHOUSE, Tenn. - Bridgewater College men's golf sees suspended play at the 15th hole due to weather conditions which positions the Eagles three strokes behind the leader, Rose-Hulman, at The Legacy Golf Course Saturday.
Despite tee shot struggles by the team, currently the Eagles are in a two-way tie for fourth among 15 teams with a score of +17 and trails Rose-Hulman in first place by three strokes at +14 after 15 holes. The Eagles battled wind, rain, and suspended play.
On the play leaderboard,
Will Layton leads the way for the Eagles for sixth place with a +2.
Jayden Hendricks holds as the second finisher for the Eagles with a +3 and 10th place. The remaining Eagles are
Brandon Washburn and
Jackson Baugher who both sit at +6 as well as
Walker Gillespie with a +8.
Short game and putting put four birdies on Layton's card and Washburn who stood at 10 over par after seven holes was on a rally over his last eight holes that included three birdies and an eagle on his final hole of play.
Jayden Hendricks avoided big numbers and with two par 5 holes left to play tomorrow morning is in a strong position.

"When you struggle and are grinding somewhat on the course but still in contention as a team; it says something of the caliber and depth of players we have on the course," said assistant golf coach
Mike Clark. "Being the talented chaser on the final day is not a bad position to be in. Add a re-booted
Walker Gillespie to the equation on Sunday and we can improve on our 38th national ranking with a win."
Â
Bridgewater will tee it up early on Sunday morning with 21 holes of golf to play.
