INDIANAPOLIS, Ill. - Abby Mikolay of the Bridgewater College women's track and field team qualified for the 2026 NCAA Division III women's indoor track and field championships, announced by the association Sunday night.
Mikolay earned the nod in the women's shot put after recording an ODAC record 13.65-meter throw in the ODAC championships last weekend. The mark put her 19th in division III entering a weekend of last chance regional qualifiers, with the NCAA accepting the top-20 performances during the season. Although Mikolay was unable to improve her mark at the South Region Final Qualifier on Saturday, she maintained her spot in the top-20 marks nationally and qualified for the national meet for the first time in her collegiate career.
Mikolay is the first Eagle to make the indoor championship since Adalia Coleman in 2023. Coleman received the invite to Birmingham for the women's 60-meter dash and 200-meter dash. Coleman earned first-team all-American honors in both events with a national championship in the 60-meter dash.
The Waynesboro, Va. native is set to represent the Eagles at the Birmingham CrossPlex in Birmingham, Ala. on Saturday, Mar. 14 at 4 p.m.
