HARRISONBURG, Va. - The Bridgewater College women's track and field team completed the second day of competition at the EMU Heritage Invitational Friday afternoon.
The women's throw trio of Emma Bobbitt, Elizabeth Ramos, and Lilly Goldbeck competed in both the women's discus throw and shot put. Bobbitt and Ramos went 1-2 in Discus. Bobbitt recorded a 35.34-meter throw on her penultimate attempt to earn the top spot. Ramos threw for 33.36 meters on her final attempt. Goldbeck placed eighth in the event. Bobbitt podiumed in the women's shot put with a top throw of 9.95 meters for a second-place finish.
Hannah Knudson placed sixth in the women's 1500-meter run. Knudson clocked 5:49.48 to cross the line first in the second heat.
Malia Stewart competed in the 100-meter hurdles and the 200-meter dash. Stewart clocked 16.54 in the 100-meter hurdles and was edged out by EMU's Faith Schultz for the top spot. Stewart clocked 27.59 in the 200 to finish fourth.
Kasi Showers was the lone competitor in the women's 400-meter hurdles. Showers clocked 1:10.53 to set a new meet record.
BC finished the meet with Shiloh Thompson in the women's 5k. Thompson clocked 20:42.68 for a fourth-place finish.
Bridgewater is scheduled to complete the final day of their Harrisonburg tour tomorrow at the JMU invitational on the campus of James Madison University.
