JACKSONVILLE, N.C. - The Bridgewater College women's golf team started out first round action at the Camp Lejeune Invitational finishing fifth among 11 teams at Paradise Point Golf Course.
The Eagles as a team scored 333 (+49) through the first 18 holes. Hannah Rizzo completed the day as the top scorer for the Eagles, placing sixth among 60 golfers. The junior carded a 75 (+4) in a solid round of golf. Rizzo tallied three birdies on the day and eight pars. Rizzo remains four strokes back from the leader.
Emily Price came around next as the second top score for the Eagles with a 79. Price avoided high numbers in the first round, while posting a birdie on hole four. Price weathered a three-hole stretch with a bogey and hung in to keep a top 15 finish.
The third scorer was Addy Sweet as Sweet produced an 83 in the first round. A triple bogey on No. 14 set the freshman back but also kept par through two holes on No. 10 and 11. Sweet took 22nd place.
The fourth scorer was Iyana Smith for a 51st finish and Sarah Maggi wrapped the first round in 54th.
The Eagles return for day two tomorrow, April 11.
