JACKSONVILLE, N.C. - The Bridgewater College men's golf team finished the second round of the 54-hole tournament in sixth place at Camp Lejeune Invitational Saturday, which sets them with an improvement of nine strokes from the first round.
The Eagles wrapped day two with an even par 288 which was the lowest team score in the second round of the tournament. Brandon Washburn leads the Eagles as the lowest scorer with a three-under par 69 and a three-way tie for third place. Washburn nailed three birdies and tallied an eagle on a par 3 on No. 8. He improved by four strokes from the first round and remains two-under par.
Jackson Baugher turned in a +1 second round to a total of +5 from both days. Baugher currently holds 39th place in a three-way tie. The next finisher for the Eagles was Jayden Hendricks with a +7 second round to end day two at a +6. Hendricks currently sits in 44th place in a six-way tie.
Walker Gillespie and Will Layton both finished in 50th as the fourth and fifth scorer with a +7 two-day total of 151.
The Eagles return tomorrow, April 12 for the final day of action at Paradise Point Golf Club.
