POCONO, Pa. - The Bridgewater College men's golf team sprang out to a first-place finish after the first round at the Spring Thaw hosted by Oswego State as
Jayden Hendricks nailed a first-place finish with a 69 (-3) at Delaware Golf & Resort Friday.
The Eagles scored a team total of 285 setting them seven strokes ahead of the second-place finisher, Stevens Institute. Hendricks led the way for the Eagles among the 13-team field and 70 golfers.Â
Andrew Baugher laid out a second-place finish after the first round for a -1 score.
Walker Gillespie followed closely behind with a top five result and an even par.
Brandon Washburn was one stroke back from Gillespie and landed a seventh-place opening round.Â
Ben Hutcheson competed individually with a 76 and took 17th place.
Will Layton rounded out the day as the fifth golfer and took 26th place with a 77.
The Eagles return tomorrow, April 4 for the second round at the Spring Thaw.Â
