Deborah (D.J.) Litten finished her playing career at Bridgewater as one of the top women's basketball players in the College's history.

During her four years, the Eagles posted a 77-38 overall record.  During her first three years, the program advanced to the regional level in AIAW competition and twice played in the national tournament.  During her freshman season, the Eagles finished first in the state, sixth in the region, and lost in the first round of the national tournament.  The Eagles were second at both the state and regional level and once again lost in the opening round of the national tournament during Litten's junior season.

Bridgewater joined the ODAC prior to Litten's final season and, as a senior, she helped lead the Eagles to a first-place finish during the regular season and a second-place finish at the conference tournament.  Litten was a first-team All-ODAC selection and was named the conference's player of the year.

Litten finished her career with 1,216 point and 1,005 rebounds.  She is the only female player in Bridgewater history to record more than 1,000 career rebounds.  She currently ranks No. 6 on the Eagles' all-time scoring list.

After graduation, Litten embarked upon a career in education.  She has been employed with the Shenandoah County Public Schools since 1983 as a teacher, coach and administrator.  Litten coached girls basketball for 10 years and also coached volleyball and boys basketball.  In 1996, she earned her master's degree in education from James Madison University. She is currently an assistant principal in the school system.
