Box Score ORLANDO, Fla. - Bridgewater College closed its spring break trip to Florida with an 8-0 victory Thursday evening over Daniel Webster.
The Eagles took the lead with a run in the top of the first. Nick Fulk singled and moved into scoring position on a single by Brendan Howell. Justin Petock plated Fulk with a single for a 1-0 Eagles lead.
The score remained 1-0 until the top of the sixth inning. Petock and Zach Hynes reached on singles and a bloop single by Darren Yoder scored Petock to put the Eagles ahead, 2-0. Hynes then scored on Hunter Hensley's groundout for a 3-0 Bridgewater lead.
The Eagles added three runs in the eighth inning and two more in the ninth to finish off the 8-0 victory.
With two outs in the eighth Yoder walked, Hensley bunted for a hit and Fulk walked to load the bases. Derek Walling's double plated two runs and Fulk scored on a wild pitch to put the Eagles up 6-0.
In the ninth, Petock walked and Bay Liskey followed with a hit to left. Petock scored on a wild pitch and Hynes drove in Liskey, giving the Eagles an 8-0 lead.
On the mound, Robert Gallet and Dillon Via combined on the shutout.
Bridgewater, now 10-5, returns to action Saturday afternoon when it visits Emory & Henry College for an ODAC doubleheader. First pitch is set for noon.
