MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. - Bridgewater had eight top-10 finishes in mid-distance events, as the Eagles competed against primarily Division I competition on the opening night of the Coastal Carolina Invitational.
Shane Gibson was third in the 800 meters (2:06.69), while Kenny Sullivan was fifth (2:08.89).
Robert Theimer (2:12.20) placed ninth in the event, and Logan Good (2:12.54) was 12th. John Denlinger finished 16th in the 800m with a time of 2:15.73.
Gibson (fifth, 4:24.03) and Denlinger (sixth, 4:24.18) led a group of four top-10 finishers in the 1500 meters.
Sullivan (4:27.86) and Theimer (4:29.77) were ninth and 10th, respectively. Good placed 18th in 4:35.76 and Joey Walsh was 25th in 4:57.19.
With such a deep distance contingent present, the Eagles also ran the 4x800 relay. Ryan Mays, Sullivan, Good and Gibson placed ninth in 8:39.45.
Prescott Terrell led the way in the field events, placing eighth in the hammer throw (45.82m/150'4.25"). Chris Wolfgang was 11th in the event with a toss of 39.35m/129'1.5".
