Box Score MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. - York College scored seven runs in the bottom of the first inning Wednesday and the Spartans went on to shut out Bridgewater College 11-0.
The Spartans had just two hits in the first inning, but those hits along with two Bridgewater errors and five Eagles walks led to the big inning. Brandon White and Craig Wiley produced run-scoring hits for York.
York starter Conor Miller worked seven innings to pick up the victory. He allowed three hits, struck out three, walked three and hit three batters.
The Eagles finished the contest with just four hits, two each by Kevin Navedo and Brett Tharp.
Bridgewater finished its Spring Break trip with a aolid 3-1 record. Wednesday's loss snapped the Eagles' seven-game winning streak and dropped the team's record to 9-2 on the season.
Bridgewater will be back in action Saturday at the BC Baseball Field when the Eagles open conference play with a doubleheader against Virginia Wesleyn. First pitch set for 12 noon.
