LEXINGTON, Va. – The Bridgewater College kicked off its outdoor season at the Washington and Lee Track & Field Carnival on Friday.
Mike Smith, coming off an appearance at the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships, won the hammer throw with a heave of 51.45 meters (168' 9.5''). Jesus Flores finished fifth in the event with a toss of 45.14 meters (148' 1'').
Anthony Matthews finished fourth in the long jump with a mark measuring 6.50 meters (21' 3.75'').
Meanwhile, on the track, Jack Donovan ran in the 1,500-meter run finishing with a time of 4:15.81.
Gabriel Miller finished with the top time in the 5,000-meter run for the Eagles clocking a 16:07.11 finish.
Bridgewater continues with day two of the Washington and Lee Track & Field Carnival tomorrow starting at 11 a.m.
