HIGH POINT, N.C. – The Bridgewater College women's track & field team competed in day one of the VertKlasse Meeting hosted by Division I High Point University on Friday.
Abby Mikolay set a new personal best and was the top Division III athlete in the hammer throw giving a heave of 41.27 meters (135' 4''). This mark places her fourth in program history.
On the track, Emily Smeds finished sixth in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 11:27.32. She finished first amongst DIII competition.
Mackenzie Young clocked a new personal best in the 1,500-meter run crossing the line at the 4:47.91 mark sliding her in the fourth spot on the BC all-time top 10.
In the 5,000-meter run, Regan Robinson finished with a new personal best of 19:45.18 while teammate Sarah Earle clocked a 20:02.31 which earns her a new season best.
The Eagles return to action tomorrow for day two of the VertKlasse Meeting with events beginning at 9 a.m.
