FOREST, Va. - Jay Garcia of the Bridgewater College women's basketball team has been named the Old Dominion Athletic Conference's Defensive Player of the Week.

Garcia led Bridgewater to a 2-0 week with a pair of double-doubles. The Harrisonburg native tallied 13 rebounds and three blocks in the Eagles' win over Roanoke on Tuesday and was a key piece of BC's comeback win over Guilford with 10 rebounds to go along with a season-high 25 points. Garcia is also closing in on the program leaderboard as she is 10 boards shy of 10th in program history in career rebounds.

The Eagles hold the ODAC's top scoring defense and are among the national leaders in field goal percentage defense. BC returns to action on Wednesday at Lynchburg.
