NEW ORLEANS - The United States Track & Field and Cross-Country Coaches Association released their 2026 all-region teams Wednesday. Bridgewater's women's track & field squad had seven representatives on the team stemming from eight different events.
Megan Walter, Summer Wallace, Arianna Jones, and Jade Buckles earned all-region honors for their performance in the women's 4x400 relay. The quartet teamed up for a 4:06.29 submission, the eighth-fastest time in the south region. Wallace posted the fastest split of the relay at 1:01.08.
Buckles earned all-region honors for both the 60-meter dash and the 200-meter dash. Buckles defended her throne in the women's 60-meter dash in the ODAC championships. The Stafford, Va. Native laid down a season-best 7.66-second dash in the prelims of the conference championship meet. Buckles's top time is tied for the second-best in the south region and sits inside of the top-25 best marks in division III this season. In the 200-meter dash, Buckles placed second in the ODAC championship with a 25.51-second dash. Buckles laid down a season-best 25-second 200-meter dash at the Joe LaRocco Invitational. Her best is the fifth-best mark in the region.
Olivia Crigger earned all-region honors in the women's triple jump. Crigger podiumed in the event for the second consecutive indoor season, placing second with a best mark of 11.27 meters in the ODAC championship meet. The mark is the seventh-best in the south region.
Wallace earned all-region honors in high jump and long jump. Wallace opened the ODAC championship meet with a win in the women's long jump. Wallace's best jump was measured at 5.52 meters, the fourth-best mark in the region. Wallace also placed third in high jump, clearing 1.59 meters. Wallace holds the seventh-best mark in the region.
Maddie Watson also received all-region honors in high jump. Watson's cleared 1.61 meters at the Joe LaRocco Invitational. Watson's best mark ranks fifth in the south region.
Lastly, Abby Mikolay adds an all-region selection for women's shot put to her stacked indoor resume. Mikolay was crowned ODAC champion in the event after throwing a meet and conference record of 13.63 meters. The throw is also ranked second in the region and 19th in division III, qualifying her for the national meet.
Mikolay is set to compete at the NCAA Indoor Track & Field National Championships in Birmingham, Ala. on Saturday, Mar. 14 at 3 p.m. The rest of the squad will take a short hiatus before opening the outdoor season at the W&L Track & Field Carnival on Friday, Mar. 20.
