SALEM, Va. - The Bridgewater College men's track and field team competed in the final day of the ODAC championship meet on Sunday. The Eagles finished in third, trailing Lynchburg and Washington and Lee.
Junior thrower Jesus Flores started the day with a win in the men's shot put. Flores threw 15.75 meters on his fourth attempt to sweep the throwing events. Flores was joined by McKinley Goodbar on the podium. Goodbar threw 14.10 meters on his penultimate attempt to place third.
Walker Knicely placed third in the men's pole vault. Knicely cleared 4.38 meters on his first attempt, but failed to clear the 4.63-meter threshold.
Freshman Jayden Brown placed fifth in the men's 60-meter hurdles. Brown recorded a season best 8.46 in the event.
Freshman Jayden Davenport placed second in the men's 60-meter dash, stopping the clock at 6.95. Davenport also claimed Bronze in the men's 200-meter dash after clocking 22.61.
Bridgewater finished the meet in third with a total of 90 points. Lynchburg won the meet on the men's side with 187.5 points. Washington and Lee claimed second with 120.5 points.
Bridgewater competes at the South Regional Qualifier beginning on Friday, Mar. 6.
